Pastoral Care
Visits To The Sick
A family of faith cares about one another, and Jesus enters into the mystery of suffering of those who are ill, informed, and experience the faulty of age. We keep you in our prayers and want to visit. Please help us to do that by letting us know if someone goes into the hospital or care facility, can no longer get out to attend Mass, or is in need of pastoral support. Marian Ministers of Care and others within our parish regularly visit the sick and homebound at home and in care facilities.
To request a visit, contact the office. This year, we would also like to increase the number of ministers of care. This can be a source of great joy in your life. If you would like to give the gift of time, love, and Jesus in the Eucharist, please contact the office to arrange for training. This is one of the most impactful things that you can do for fellow parishioners.
Funeral Ministries
If you have ever received a word or gesture of hope or encouragement at a time of loss, you know how meaningful that can be. Our parishes are in need of helping hands and hearts to be that presence through funeral ministries, especially and including Funeral Vigil Service Leaders, Lectors, Sacristans, Altar Servers, and the Resurrection Choir. We have also started a ministry of consolation to better accompany families at the time of loss. You can make a big difference for grieving families by joining these flexibly scheduled ministries.
Anointing of the Sick
Throughout Scripture, we see Jesus caring for the sick, touching them and healing them. Jesus’ healing touch is extended to people today in the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. If you are planning to have surgery, are experiencing health problems, or facing the challenges of aging, you are encouraged to celebrate the sacrament and the prayer of the parish community. While the suffering brought about by illness of body, mind, or spirit can be overwhelming, the grace of this sacrament can be a source of strength, courage, and hope. To celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing, please contact Fr. Dan or Fr. Matthew to arrange a time.
